Advertisers choose outdoor media channels in 2021!

2020 has come to an end and we could not be more excited. In the coming 2021, what expectations do advertisers have for outdoor advertising?


According to the CTR Media Intelligence, traditional outdoor advertising expenditures increased by 7.3% year-on-year in October 2020, which is a further increase compared to September 2020. Both elevator LCD and elevator poster advertising expenditures increased by more than 40%.


Among the brands that put their trust in outdoor media, online used-car dealer Guazi.com, Nazar (南极), Alipay and Beike Zhaofang (贝壳找房) entered the TOP10 for outdoor advertising for the first time this year, by spending more than 80% on elevator advertising channels.


From the perspective of the delivery industry, in October, the IT product and service industry advertising spending increased the most, ranking the top three in the traditional outdoor, elevator LCD, and video advertising in the cinema spending lists, with an increase of 399.6%, 114.8%, and 326.9% respectively. In addition, expenses for the Primal Legends online game first advertising campaign in elevators accounted for 22% of all IT product and service industry expenses.





The food industry ranked third in elevator LCD advertising spending, an increase of 168.8%. The top food brands of elevator LCD are MILKGROUND, Xiao Xian Stew, A1, Hao Ji, and LIFE SPACE. These five major brands account for 78.9 percent of the total value of the food industry's investment in elevator LCD advertising.



Also in the overall placement of elevator LCD advertising, the household appliance industry shows a significant increase in spending, with an increase of 615.4%. Most of the brands choosing large-scale and outdoor advertising because of their cross-platform measurement and targeting. For example, Changba mainly promotes its small KTV booth microphone via elevator LCD monitors. This brand contributes 73.7% of the total value of the household appliance industry’s spending on elevator LCD advertising.
